The W204 Mercedes-Benz C-Class was in production from 2008 up until 2015. The most memorable model in the range was by far the rip-snorting C63 with its vocal V8 soundtrack.
It's now at that age where some components will start to show their age. One of those will be the battery and if it hasn't been replaced the chances are that it's on borrowed time. Most of these models will now be out of their maintenance plan with only the last few models sold still covered.

Changing the battery is not something that has to be outsourced to the agents, you'll be able to do this yourself with only a few simple tools.
What you will need:
1. A new battery
2. 13mm socket with handle
3. Socket extension
4. 10mm socket or spanner.
5. Protective gear
How to:
1. Locate the battery. On the early W204 Mercedes-AMG C63, the battery is located under the hood on the front right, ahead of the passenger's seat.
2. Remove the battery cover by undoing the 3 retaining clips. Pull the cover away from the battery and place one side.
3. Using a 13mm socket and an extension, undo the two 13mm bolt that holds down the retaining bracket on the right side of the battery.
4. Undo the negative terminal (NEG/-) with a 10mm spanner.
5. Undo the positive terminal (POS/+) with a 10mm spanner.
6. Remove the battery.
7. Replace the battery with the new one.
8. Install the battery in the reverse of the removal, starting with the positive terminal followed by the negative.
9. Ensure the battery is securely fastened down.
10. Test the battery by starting the car. Note that some settings will be returned to default.
