How to replace a headlight bulb on a GWM Steed

The GWM Steed is a trustworthy workhorse that is beginning to make inroads into our leisure double cab market. Although not equipped with fancy LED headlights it does still come with a set of high-quality halogen units. We show you how to quickly and easily change out a headlight bulb.
Steedy as she goes
With most modern cars moving over to LED type headlights, the need to replace headlight bulbs is greatly decreased, there are however still plenty of cars on our roads such as the entry-level GWM Steed, that use standard halogen headlamp bulbs and unfortunately, they don't last forever and need to be replaced.
Replacing these bulbs isn't that hard to do and can be done in a matter of minutes with no tools required.
You will need:
- Replacement headlight bulbs of the correct wattage
So let's get to it!
- Open the bonnet
- Locate the back of the headlight cluster in the engine bay.
- Find the cap that covering the bulb housing and remove it
- Remove the connector plug from the back of the bulb.
- Locate the spring clip that secures the bulb in place and unclip it.
- Carefully remove the old bulb.
- Insert new bulb into the housing and replace the spring clip, securing the bulb in place.
- Replace the electrical plug and put the bulb cover back.
- Make sure to test the high and low beams before finishing up.
