How to change wiper blades on a Nissan Navara
By Lawrence Minnie
The Nissan Navara is a capable all-around machine that does well in the suburbs and off-road. With exposure to such a varied environment, the windshield wipers will need to be replaced on a regular basis and we show you how in just a few easy steps.
Keeping it clean
The Nissan Navara was the first premium double cab sold in South Africa. They have prided themselves on being first to market with many innovations and segment firsts. With it being a very capable off-road machine you will most likely need to replace the windshield wipers every season and doubly so if you are attacking the mud and dust.
This doesn't mean a trip to your local garage as this is a fairly simple DIY job that you can tackle in a few minutes without any tools and we can show you how it's done.
You will need:
- New wipers for vehicle model
- Soft cloth
Let's get started!
- Lift the wiper blade arm up.
- Locate the pinch clip and press until you hear a click. This is the blade unclipping from the holder.
- Slide the old blade down releasing it from the wiper arm.
- Place the new wiper blade against the holder and gently apply upward pressure until it clips back into place.
- Repeat on the opposite side
- Use the soft cloth to clean any dirt and dust from the windshield before placing the new wipers down, as this can lead to scratches on the glass
- This vehicle uses a slightly longer blade on the driver's side and a shorter blade on the passenger side, don't get them mixed up as it may cause damage when the system is activated.
