How to change wiper blades on a MINI Hatch

Step by step guide on how to change wiper blades on a MINI Cooper (hatch).

The MINI Hatch has several types of wiper arms which differ on the model and year of production. Each arm requires a different type of wiper blade and each blade on a particular car will have different lengths that differ on the driver's and passenger's side. 

J-Hook

One of the most common wiper arms is the J-Hook. This wiper arm is shaped like the letter "J" while the wiper blade gets attached on to the J. 

Step by step guide:

1. Lift the arm and pull the wiper arm away from the windscreen until it locks.

2. Press the part that clips and slide the blade from the hook of the arm.

3. Slide the new blade on to the hook of the arm and pull it outwards to engage the retaining clips.

4. Gently lower the arm onto the windscreen
