The Mercedes-Benz X-Class may not have been the roaring sales success that many believed it would be. After only two years on the market, the X-Class was dropped from production, having only sold a little over 30 000 units globally. Production was officially ended in May 2020.
If you're one of the fortunate owners that managed to get their hands on one of them, fear not, because Mercedes-Benz will continue to honour warranties and service agreements. Some of the maintenance, though, can be handled on your own. One such maintenance task is changing your windscreen wipers.

The sun's UV rays are responsible for the deterioration of windscreen wiper blades and these should be checked every season for damage and signs of wear. If your X-Class is exposed to the sun on a regular basis, you may need to change your wiper blades once a year.
Here's the quick and easy way of doing it.
You will need:
- New wiper blades. 1x 550mm (22-inch) - driver's side. 1x 450mm (18-inch) - passenger side.
- Soft cloth
- 5-minutes to spare
How to:
1. Raise the wiper blade arm up.
2. Locate the pinch clip and press until you hear a click. This is the blade unclipping from the holder.
3. Slide the old blade down releasing it from the wiper arm.
4. Slide the new blade over the arm and gently apply upward pressure until it clips back into place.
5. Repeat on the opposite side.
6. Use the soft cloth to clean any dirt and dust from the windshield before placing the new wipers down, as this can lead to scratches on the glass
This vehicle uses a slightly longer blade on the driver's side and a shorter blade on the passenger side, don't get them mixed up as it may cause damage when the system is activated.
