Best car chargers for your devices

Most new cars have at least one USB port where you can plug in your phone or tablet. But what if the entire family have to plug their devices in? There are several options available.

Most cars have their 12V power socket up front which also doubles as a cigarette lighter (older models), while larger cars sometimes have a socket behind the centre console and/or in the boot. This can be used to plug in a multi-USB hub to charge everyone's devices simultaneously. We like the following brands: Griffin, Tuff-love, Superfly, Ahha, Duracell.

A solar-powered charger can also help if additional charging is needed, or if your car's battery is flat and you need emergency power - but bear in mind that it has to be secured safely in the car - in other words, where it can't go flying and injure someone if the driver slams the brakes for some reason.
