5 Toyota C-HR accessories you didn’t know you needed.
The Toyota C-HR is available in four derivatives and three trim levels, base, Plus and Luxury. While all are comprehensively specified there are a few accessories you can add to bolster your ownership experience even more. Here are five of those optional items.
In 2020, Toyota updated its C-HR range, however, more recently the Japanese automaker added a few more enhancements to the Luxury trimmed derivative. Customers of the newly updated derivative will benefit from Bi-beam LED light headlamps as well as LED fog lamps and revised LED taillamps. The darkened light clusters match the bi-tone exterior finish with the darkened roof.
Other new enhancements include the addition of all-speed adaptive cruise control and lane trace functionality as part of the Toyota Safety Sense system. While it seems as though you might have everything you need from this crossover model, here are five extras you didn't know you needed.
1. Bonnet deflector
While you might think that a bonnet deflector is purely for aesthetic purposes, you are wrong. Bonnet deflectors cover the front portion of the bonnet, which is the most likely area for small stones or debris to hit while you travel at speed. This mitigates small chips to occur and could save you a trip to the panel beater to perform paint touchups to the front of the vehicles.
2. Boot liner
If you regularly load objects into the luggage compartment of your Toyota C-HR, this accessory is for you. The optional boot liner perfectly fits the contours of the vehicle's luggage compartment and is made from a rubber composite. Not only does it protect the factory fitted carpeting from dirt or spills, but it also assists in stopping luggage from shifting around with its anti-slip pattern.
3. Safety film
Toyota offers safety film for the C-HR. The film comes in two thicknesses, 100 microns or 150 microns, and is available in 50% and 35% tints. Not only does it reduce the number of rays entering the cabin, but in the case of an accident, the film will keep the shattered glass in place, mitigating the chance of occupants getting cut or bruised from shards.
4. Rear bumper protection plate
Optionally available for customers is a rear bumper protection plate. The stainless steel plate is fitted to the top of the rear bumper and protects the vehicle's paint from scratches occurring during loading and unloading the boot.
5. Detachable tow bar
A tow bar is one of the most underrated accessories you can fit onto your vehicle. While some skip this item because it detracts from the rear styling, Toyota offers a detachable unit so that you can remove it when not in use. Whether you need to tow a trailer for the vacation trip or a jet-ski to the dam, a tow bar will come in handy more than once during the ownership period.
