Which cars are bulletproof in South Africa?

While there are very few manufacturers who sell so-called bulletproof cars from the factory, there are a few local manufacturers who can armour-plate and reinforce existing products, while retaining the original aesthetics of the car.

Which cars are bulletproof in South Africa?

While there is not a specific list of bulletproof cars locally, as clients will take their existing vehicles to aftermarket companies, there are specific dealers on the AutoTrader platform that sell so-called 'bulletproof' vehicles, such as MMI Armoured and Exotic Cars, Armoured Mobility and Armormax.
 
 
 
This Land Cruiser was developed by local armour-plating specialists SVI, who have a range of solutions for those looking at enhanced vehicle occupant and guarding protecting services. According to SVI, the 300 Series pictured above features Level B6 armour provides full protection against assault rifles.

This Ranger Raptor was also built by SVI in 2021 and can resist handguns up to .44 Magnum while its makers claim that just 280kg were added during the armour-plating, meaning that the Raptor's party piece Fox suspension could be retained.
