Toyota recently unveiled the new Urban Cruiser range, and not only does it look completely different from its predecessor, but it is larger and offers more standard features. The Urban Cruiser can be had in three derivatives, with only one offering a 4-speed automatic transmission coupled to the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. 

The motor develops 77 kW and 138 Nm of torque and is claimed to return an average fuel consumption figure of 6.1 L / 100km. As mentioned, the new Toyota Urban Cruiser is available in three derivatives; the XS, XR and XR Auto. All three variants are sold with a 3-year / 100 000 km and a 4-service / 60 000 km service plan.

Verdict

The XS trim is the most affordable new Toyota Urban Cruiser available. However, even in the XS trim, customers can expect comfort features such as automatic air conditioning, an infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as standard safety features such as ABS brakes with electronic brake assist, traction and stability control systems and hill-start assist.
