What is the cheapest Kia Seltos you can buy?

If you want to park a new Kia Seltos in your garage, how much will the most affordable one cost you?

Buying a Car2 min read

The Seltos slots in just under Kia's Sportage, but it's not that much smaller; in fact, I found it to be one of the roomier compact SUVs in SA. Now that it's been upgraded, it's better to drive, and who doesn't love that gigantic new screen design?

But let's get to the point:

How much is the cheapest Seltos in the lineup and what does it offer potential owners?

The most affordable model is the Kia Seltos 1.5 LX manual model at R467 995. Kia says it replaces the outgoing Seltos EX as the starting point for the Seltos range and offers high specifications at an attractive price point.

The LX model looks very premium despite being the entry-level model.

    • Electrically adjustable side mirrors with integrated indicator lamps
    • LED Daytime Running Lights
    • Automatic headlight control
    • Remote central locking with alarm and immobilizer
    • Keyless entry
  • Interior:
    • Black cloth upholstery
    • Height-adjustable driver's seat
    • Leather-wrapped steering wheel with adjustable rake and reach
    • 60/40 split folding rear seats
    • 4.2-inch Supervision TFT instrument cluster
    • Automatic light control
    • Electric windows all around
    • Electrochromatic rear-view mirror
    • Manual air conditioning
    • Cruise control
  • Infotainment System:
    • 8-inch touchscreen display
    • Reverse camera with dynamic guidance lines
    • Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition
    • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
    • Steering wheel controls for phone, audio, and cruise control
    • Six speakers
    • USB ports for charging in front and rear

The seat cloth in this specific Kia Seltos looks upmarket and durable. The central rear seat has a lap belt, however.

The Seltos in LX trim looks the part even though it's the base model.

What will you pay for this Seltos every month?

It depends on a variety of factors - are you trading in, putting down a deposit, or both?

If you're buying with 0 deposit and have nothing to trade in, over a 72-month period you'll be paying R 9 581 per month (with a 13.75% interest rate) which is quite steep. Blame it on high interest rates and import tax!
