Cross Country warranty
South Africans have pretty much given up on the practicality and stylish nature of the station wagon. This is evidenced by the steady decline in sales and that you can no longer get a V60 new from the dealership. If you have your eye set on one of these Swedish works of art you will have to scour the second hand market and then make sure that the warranty is still intact.

The V60 was sold with a 5 year / 100 000km warranty and maintenance plan and Volvo Car South Africa undertakes to replace, free of charge, any part or parts of new Volvo cars purchased and operated in South Africa found defective in material or workmanship for a period of 5 years /100 000 kilometres from the date of first registration.
What the warranty does NOT cover:
• Normal wear and tear.
• Failure to properly maintain the vehicle in accordance with Volvo’s maintenance schedules and service instructions.
• Failure to use Volvo specified parts or fluids.
• Damage resulting from neglect, accident or improper use.
• Unauthorised modifications of the vehicle or parts (modifications outside of Volvo specifications).
• Performance Tuning excluding Volvo approved performance tuning.
• Refilling or topping-up with incorrect fuel, e.g. petrol used instead of diesel.
• Use of biodiesel.
• Bio-ethanol alternative fuels in concentrations that exceed 10%.
The following items may be covered by the Volvo Maintenance Plan as long as the service intervals are met on time
• Replacement or “Top up” of consumable fluids, i.e. oils, anti-freeze, brake fluid, windscreen washer fluid.
• Wiper blades.
• Oil, air and fuel filters.
• Drive belts and the replacement or adjustment thereof.
• Wheel alignment / balancing.
• Lubrication.
• Spark plugs.
• Brake pads / discs replacement due to wear.
We strongly recommend reading the owner's manual or visiting your local Volvo dealer to ascertain whether your warranty is still in effect and if the Maintenance Plan will still cover you.
