Incentive is a thing that motivates or encourages someone to do something. A car-buying incentive is nothing but a different way of saying ‘special offer’ or deal, which is designed to motivate you to buy something for a reduced price or for some kind of special reward. Manufacturers have incentives and so do dealerships. This can be anything from getting a free safety check to not paying any deposit, a payment ‘holiday, free accessories, trade-in assistance, or a percentage off of the usual selling price.

Usually incentives happen to clear stock before a new model launches, or to help manufacturers or dealers make their sales targets. If you’re wondering when the best time is to buy that dream car, have a look at this article by Chad Lückhoff, that will give you some insight into the best time to bargain for that deal.
