66 kW Engine

The 66 kW Micra is powered by a down-scaled 0.9-litre, inline 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This diminutive powerplant is still capable of delivering more than enough power and torque for the daily grind and the bustle of the highways. Producing 66 kW and 140 Nm, the 66 kW Micra takes 21.1-seconds to get to 100 km/h from a standstill and will trundle on to a top speed of 170 km/h.

The fuel consumption is claimed to be as follows:

Urban - 6.7 l/100km

Highway - 4.2 l/100km

Combined - 5.0 l/100km

84 kW Engine

Models utilizing the 84 kW engine benefit from a host of new technologies that make the engine not only more powerful but more fuel-efficient as well, power output considered. This new DIG-T engine features Nissan's bore spray coating, a lining that is applied to the cylinder walls to reduce friction and drag in the rotating assembly. This was pioneered in the Nissan GT-R and has now found a home in the Nissan Micra.

The engine also features a Delta Head design that allows the cylinder head to be more compact, allowing additional room for ancillaries and reducing weight in the process. As such, the Nissan Micra 84 kW delivers more punch for less drama.

Fuel consumption for the 84 kW Micras are as follows:

Urban - 6.0 l/100km

Highway - 4.3 l/100km

Combined - 5.1 l/100km
