If you get a Volkswagen-specific scanner, you can even use it to set up things like the daytime running lamps and other convenience features. These tools are indispensable to anyone who wants to tinker with their car, or even just to see exactly why a warning lamp has illuminated, before taking it to a workshop.

Floor mats

You may have already received a set of floor mats from the dealership when you bought the car, but chances are that those are made of carpeting. In this case they look great and do protect the carpet underneath, but they also tend to look very grubby very quickly. Or maybe your kids get into the car with muddy feet after soccer practice, while you just want to keep the foot wells as clean as possible. Invest in a set of heavy-duty floor mats to protect your investment – just make sure that it’s positioned so that the driver’s side mat won’t interfere with the pedals!

With crime being a serious scourge upon society, you should try to protect yourself and your car against those with nefarious intent. Smash and Grab window treatment is a film which is applied to the inside of your car’s side- and rear windows, making it more difficult for criminals to gain access to your car’s interior. It’s available in different shades as well, so you can even score that cool “tinted glass” look if you specify a darker film – just make sure that you don’t go too dark, as that is illegal! You could buy a roll of the stuff and apply it yourself, but there’s always the risk that you might catch some air bubbles while doing so, so it’s probably better if you’d trust a professional outfit to perform this task.
