Top 5 Things You Need To Know When Buying A Used Car In Cape Town
This week we spoke to Schelton Daniel, Dealer Principal from Cars4Africa in Cape Town to get his 5 top tips for anyone looking to buy a new car.
1. When is the best time to buy a used car?
Daniel Schelton - “It all depends on the person and situation, and just when they're ready. Buy when you're ready.”
2. How many kilometres is too high for a used car?
“I think anything over 200,000km, that's my marker. Especially for resale, I wouldn't sell high with too high mileage so I’d say don't buy too high either.”
3. Is Mileage more important than age?
“It can depend on what the person is looking for and their budget because a car with lower mileage and older age can be more expensive than a newer car with higher mileage.”
4. Is it cheaper to pay with cash?
“Yeah I may give them a little deal, I'm open to negotiation when they pay with cash.”
5. What are your top tips for anyone looking to buy a used car?
“Look at the dealership, look at their activities on Facebook and Instagram and if the advertising is ticking all the boxes. Check them out properly, check their reviews and make sure people who are buying from them are happy.”
