4. All-new Kia Cerato Koup T-GDi (2014)

Not all of us are content to drive slow, but sensible sedans, which is why the Cerato Koup T-GDI is the perfect antidote. Featuring Kia's high-performance Gamma T-GDi 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with a whopping 152kW, you'll reach a 100km/h in a swift 7-8 seconds, depending on your choice of transmission.

Back in 2013, the Kia Cerato 5-door hatch made its first appearance in SA. “The combination of a practical hatchback for carrying cargo and the sporty touches throughout the car make the all-new Cerato 5-door a dual threat in the segment,” reckoned David Sieff, Marketing Director of KMSA at the time.

The Cerato Hatch was immediately available with a choice of two engines: A 1.6 litre (non-turbo) with 96kW, and a 2.0-litre with 118kW.  SX models were fitted with advanced safety features such as stability control and stability management. 6 airbags were included in the package.
