The first generation Renault Kwid quickly rose in popularity because of its low pricing, even though it offered very little in terms of occupant safety. After the updated model arrived, Renault introduced a host of standard safety equipment and with it, accessories that are available during and even after the specification stage.

The Renault Kwid is offered in three derivatives namely; Expression, Dynamique and Climber. All three variants come fitted with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol motor either mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic manual transmission (AMT). Both powertrain configurations produce 50 kW and 91 Nm of torque, however, the manual derivative and promise to return a fuel consumption figure of 4.7 L / 100 km while the AMT indicate 4.7 L / 100 km.
Alloy wheels
As standard, the Renault Kwid comes fitted with 14-inch steel wheels with mag covers. While it is a reliable choice and in most instances the cheaper option, steel wheels are heavy, which is why the first accessories to consider are the optional alloy wheels. Not only do the wheels benefit the exterior appearance of the vehicle, because of its lightweight construction, but alloy wheels can also benefit a vehicle's fuel economy, braking and acceleration.
Roof rails
The Renault Kwid is quite small and should you want to transport larger goods or several items, you will find yourself running out of space fairly quickly. This is why we would advise on the fitment of roof rails. Not only will this allow you to stow items safely on the roof of your vehicle, but allow you to fit aftermarket bicycle carriers or roof boxes if you use them regularly.
ORVM blinker
It is always important that other vehicles notice your intention to turn or change lanes to avoid unnecessary accidents. Fitting indicators to your vehicle's outside rearview mirrors (ORVM) will increase the visibility when activating the blinkers. While some vehicles offer ORVM blinkers as standard equipment, this is an optional item on the Renault Kwid.
Front parking sensors
The new Renault Kwid comes fitted with park distance control sensors, however, only at the rear of the vehicle. While the Kwid is nice and small and can fit into most tight parking spaces, getting into those spaces can sometimes be troublesome. To make sure you don't accidentally bump the vehicle or wall in front of you when parking, consider the optional front parking sensors. Not only will it let you park your vehicle with confidence, but keep your Kwid and objects/people around it, safe.
Puddle lamps
Puddle lamps are not just there to keep your favourite shoes from being ruined. With the rough terrain and undergrowth we have in South Africa, having a puddle lamp can help you avoid injury when stepping out of your vehicle. Being able to see a hole or a sharp object (or even a snake) before stepping out of your vehicle is very helpful, and while in some countries this item can be considered a luxury, in our unique corner of the world it can be considered a safety feature.
