You've cursed them, you've loathed them and you may have even relied on one to get you to where you need to go. The Nissan NV350 may be more popular as a minibus taxi but there's so much more to this light commercial van than meets the eye.

The NV350 is not only available as the 16-seater Impendulo taxi but as a panel van that can cart and carry your stock, tools or products to wherever they need to go. As a fleet vehicle, the Nissan NV350 offers economical, reliable transport for your particular needs.
But before running out to go sign or test the competitors, check out these three things you need to know.
1. Engine choice
The NV350 is available in both petrol and diesel models, but not all variant have the same selection of engines.
The petrol engine is a 2.5-litre, naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder that produces 108 kW and 213 Nm torque and is said to return a combined fuel consumption of 11.8 l/100km. This number increases to 12.5 l/100km for the wide-body version. All models are equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The diesel engine is a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged unit with a variable geometry turbocharger. This is good for 95 kW and 356 Nm torque and is said to return a fuel consumption of 8.3 l/100km on the combined cycle. This model too is fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
2. Model variants
The range starts with a petrol-powered panel van in narrow-body format. This model is aimed at the private SMEs and customers that require lighter-duty vehicles.
The Impendulo is only available with the 2.5-litre petrol engine and it fitted for use as a taxi. It seats 16 persons legally and complies with national legislature regarding professional transport. It is available with or without airconditioning and has a 3-year/100 000 km warranty.
The widebody version of the NV350 is the hardy workhorse. It offers the most space and is available with either the 2.5-litre petrol engine or the 2.5-litre diesel engine. These models carry a more extensive 6-year/150 000 km warranty.
3. Impressive load
The NV350 is on your radar because you need space. Aside from the 16-seater Impendulo model which is geared for passengers, the NV350 in narrow-body and wide-body formats offers seating for three with a generous amount of space in the rear.
The wide-body version features a high roof and large tailgate opening, measuring in at 1 555 mm wide and 1 560 mm high. The cavernous interior offers a class-leading 9 200 litres and is complemented by a large side sliding door.
