When confronted with a very affordable option in comparison to familiar and proven choices, the first questions asked are, what are the safety standards and reliability of the specific model? Chery has a lot of faith in their powertrain, so much so that they are selling it with a 10-year / 1 000 000 km warranty for the first owner. But don't think that they skipped on the safety features, in fact, the Tiggo 7 Pro achieved an impressive 5 stars in the Chinese New Car Assessment Programme (C-NCAP).

Rear Traffic Alert

Considering that the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is a large and spacious vehicle, it might sometimes be difficult to reverse out of parking spaces with a limited view of oncoming vehicles from either side. With this technology, the vehicle warns the driver of oncoming vehicles and even lets the driver know from which side it is coming. This allows the pilot to take evasive action and avoid a collision. This safety feature comes standard on all Chery Tiggo 7 Pro variants.

Blind Spot Detection

Blind spot detection or blind spot monitoring as it is sometimes referred to, alerts the driver by means of a small illumination in the mirrors of either side of the vehicle, should the sensors detect a vehicle in the blind spot. The vehicle will also audibly notify the driver should they attempt to change lanes while there is a vehicle in the blind spot. This not only makes navigating national routes safer but also more convenient. This item features as standard across the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro range.

Intelligent Safety Package

The intelligent safety package takes shape as a variety of safety equipment rather than just one and is only available on the Executive derivative. The package includes a Lane Departure Warning which alerts the driver if they are veering out of their lane while the indicator isn't activated. Furthermore, customers can expect a Front Collision Warning, which audibly notifies the driver of slowing traffic in front of the vehicle's path, which allows for braking or evasive action to be taken.

Also, part of the package is Automatic Emergency Braking, which will automatically start applying brake pressure should the driver not be responding quickly enough to the impending danger. Once the driver does apply brakes manually, the system will disengage, however, the pilot still has assistance from the Emergency Brake Assistance system which increases the brake pressure to allow it to come to a quicker stop.
