Verdict

All three of the above-listed models are powered by the same 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine which has been paired exclusively with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It produces a healthy 121 kW and a useful 240 Nm of torque. Local journos have praised PEUGEOT's 3008 saying it makes for a compelling argument in its cluttered family SUV segment.

In regards to which trim is better, for an additional R62,000 over the Allure model, the GT-Line offers a great amount of spec and is good value for money. Luxury levels are heightened with comfort features but for this additional bag of money for the voice recognition, 180° vision camera, wireless charging (USB ports work pretty well), LEDs and cornering lights - do you really need it? If not you can save that money and drive away in the Allure model with all the necessary features you actually need and will put to use.
