The Suzuki Ciaz is a spacious, five-door sedan which is high on features but a little low on power, unfortunately; especially the older models with 70kW, 1.4-litre engines. Be that as it may, it still makes a compelling offering for anyone in need of a practical family car with boot space for miles and plenty of legroom on the rear bench.
Last year, the Ciaz was face-lifted and relaunched in April with a larger, more efficient 1.5-litre engine, and a smidgen more power (77kW). We were mighty impressed after spending a week with the Ciaz in Cape Town and surrounds. You can read my 2019 Suzuki Ciaz review here.
Any pre-loved bargains out there?
After going through our listings for the Ciaz, we came to the conclusion that you can bag yourself a real bargain at the moment, as South Africans would rather buy a smaller, more expensive SUV than a larger, (sometimes more practical) sedan.
The Ciaz is available in GL and GLX trim. Bear in mind that the entry-level Suzuki Ciaz GL models don't have quite as many features as GLX models, but come well-equipped nonetheless. If you're buying the Ciaz as a family car and you're keen on leather seats, the GLX is the one to get. This derivative also features a 7-inch touchscreen and Mirrorlink / Apple CarPlay functionality. The Ciaz is available in auto and manual guise.

1. Suzuki Ciaz models between R100 000 and R200 000
The bargain of the century has to be this 2018 Suzuki Ciaz 1.4 GLX Auto for R154 995, below. Mileage? Only 1500 km! It's in Menlyn.
2. Suzuki Ciaz models priced from R200 000 to R250 000
A 2020 model, automatic, for R209 550? And with only 101 km on the clock? It sounds too good to be true, but it isn't.
Get a nearly-new manual 2020 Suzuki Ciaz 1.5 GLX (below) with only 150km on the clock in Plumstead for a mere R215 995.
If you can't bear to shift gears yourself, go for an automatic transmission. This blue 2020 Suzuki Ciaz 1.5 GLX automatic has 200 km on the odo. It can be found in Rosettenville, for R299 000.
Another prime example of the great deals that can be had is this red manual Suzuki 1.5 GLX (also a 2020 model) with 101 km for R219 000, also at Rosettenville.
3. Suzuki Ciaz models priced from R250 000 to R300 000
In this price range, you may as well buy brand new, but why bother? If you can buy an ultra-low mileage 2020 flagship model for R229 000 (like the blue GLX-variant mentioned above), there's no reason to spend this much money.
