If you’re in the market for a new (or used) Audi A3, but aren’t quite sure which one you want yet, we’ve done the research to bring you a list of the best Audi A3 deals currently on offer on AutoTrader.

With this model being so popular among local buyers, there’s a wide selection to choose from, coming from three generations and with a nice variety of body shapes as well. There are currently 880 options available on AutoTrader, and these are our top picks.

1. Audi A3 Sedan 1.4TFSI Auto, priced under R400 000

Because a new one starts at R479 000 before options, there's an almost-new 1.4TFSI sedan (known as a “35TFSI” under Audi’s new naming system) from  represents good value at its advertised price of R399 990. This 2018 model has only 14 000 km on the clock, and comes with a long list of desirable optional extras, such as a panoramic sunroof, high-gloss package, and Audi music interface – all of which will add many thousands to the price of a new example.

2. Audi A3 Sedan 1.8TFSI Auto, priced under R300 000

This variant has been superseded by the 2.0TFSI (“40TFSI”) in the 2018 facelift, but the 1.8TFSI still offers a very appealing package. Available from , there's a beautiful example that comes with nice options such as the Audi music interface with Bluetooth and USB, and Xenon headlights. Yes, it’s a 2014 model, but with only 26 900 km on the odometer, it’s still very young in practical terms. It’s also a bit of a bargain.

3. Audi A3 Sportback 1.4TFSI, priced under R500 000

The current new list price for a base-spec A3 Sportback “35TFSI” is R469 000, which makes the practically new 2018-model 1.4TFSI from  a really good buy at R449 900. There’s only 50 km on the clock, and it comes with nice things like a panoramic sunroof, sport suspension, upgraded alloy wheels, and parking assistance thrown into the bargain.

4. Audi A3 1.8TFSI SE 3-door, priced under R300 000

The only reason why the pretty 3-door A3 from  is so cheap (R269 900) is because it’s a 2013-vintage example. For the rest, it reads like an enthusiast’s dream: 132 kW and 250 Nm, sent to the front wheels of a sporty 3-door hatchback through a 6-speed manual gearbox should make for good driving fun. Xenon headlights, the Audi media interface with Bluetooth and USB port, a panoramic sunroof and RS-style alloy wheels merely sweeten the deal, and with only 54 000 km on the clock, it’s just nicely run in.

5. Audi A3 1.8TFSI Cabriolet, priced under R300 000

Let’s say you want some stylish, wind-in-the-hair motoring, but can’t stretch to the R606 000 starting price for a new A3 Cabriolet, you can find those same attributes for less than half the price in a 2015-vintage example from Your R264 900 will get you this red drop-top with 117 235 km on the odometer, so you should probably invest in mechanical breakdown insurance. Earlier (second-generation) A3 Cabrios are available for even less, but the current body style is a lot prettier than its predecessor.

If none of these options really grab your imagination, there are hordes more to choose from on AutoTrader. Just head to our search page, enter exactly what you’re looking for, and the right car will find you!
