With the price of fuel rising to record highs on a near-monthly basis, we are all looking for more efficient ways of getting around. We have therefore, found three examples of efficient and cost-effective vehicles across six vehicle segments. For our purposes today, the vehicles included in this comparison are available new for less than R1.0 million. We have also excluded several new vehicles with sub-standard safety scores. We have also factored in list pricing versus claimed fuel consumption, meaning that some products with lower consumption figures may be excluded as they are significantly more expensive than products that have made our list, negating their perceived efficiency claims.
