Nissan Qashqai test drive: Be sure to check these features out

Got your heart set on the latest Qashqai? You won't be making a mistake. Check out these features when you take one for a test drive.

Buying a Car

A few months ago, we covered a few of the latest Qashqai's features that make it a great car to own. If you have done your homework and decided on a Qashqai, we think it's a great choice. When the dealership hands you the keys to take one for a test drive, be sure to pay attention to the following:

1. Great driving position and super comfortable seats

The Qashqai's steering wheel is not just height-adjustable, but telescopically adjustable too. Finding your ideal driving position is easy, whatever your height.  The seats are bolstered in all the right places and offer sufficient under-thigh support as well. The driver's seat is also height-adjustable. Acenta Plus and Tekna models have electronically adjustable driver's seats, and partial leather seats throughout the cabin.

2. Nissan's all-new NissanConnect 2.0 infotainment system

Should you find yourself behind the wheel of the latest Qashqai (in all but the Visia derivative), we're quite sure you will be very impressed by the new NissanConnect 2.0 Infotainment system and what it offers. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new layout, and an easier searching function for the Satnav in the flagship Tekna derivative. All models except for the Visia have rearview cameras.

The flagship Tekna derivative has surround view cameras that offer a bird's eye view of your surroundings, and makes parking remarkably easy. The Tekna model is also equipped with a BOSE premium sound system, so be sure to bring your favourite USB stick along or do a bit of music streaming via the app of your choice if you do drive this model.

3. Intelligent safety features

Nissan Intelligent Mobility has found its way into the Qashqai a while ago already, but with the last tech upgrade, the most important functions can now be found on all models except the entry-level Visia. These include Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Blind Spot Warning, and Intelligent Cross Traffic Alert. (We're not saying you should deliberately drive over red robots and zebra crossings just to put this system to the test, however!)

1.2 Tekna CVT models are equipped with even more smart safety technology such as the Intelligent Around View Monitor (surround view cameras), Intelligent Moving Object Detection and the above-mentioned Satnav.
