New vs used Bentley Continental GT V8: what are top 3 differences?
Throughout history, the Bentley Continental has taken many shapes, the most popular being two-door coupe and cabriolet variants. The latest iteration continues the successful theme and is offered in both body styles, however, sees many new features added. We find out what is the top three differences between the used and new model.
The Bentley Continental has a rich history of competing in its segment against the likes of Rolls-Royce and Maybach and exudes luxury and opulence in every aspect. The more recent models draw on the marque's racing heritage and incorporate performance as well as dynamic handling characteristics while retaining the plush interior.

The Bentley Continental is currently in its third generation and was launch in 2018 to replace the outgoing model which was produced between 2011 and 2018. Subsequently, the British automaker unveiled its GT V8 model in 2019 to replace the outgoing model which made its first appearance in 2012. While both have a similar silhouette, the new model not only offers new styling cues on the exterior and interior but enhance performance under the bonnet.
1. Exterior
The new Bentley Continental GT V8 models set itself apart with quad exhaust pipes and subtle V8 badging to the front wings as well as 10-spoke, 20-inch painted alloy wheels. More significantly, the new model offers updated headlamps which flank the larger grille which sits above the newly sculpted bumper. New and sharper lines are found on the front and extend the length of the vehicle.
At the rear sees a completely new design featuring new teardrop-like taillamps in place of the more rectangular designs on the outgoing model. A new rear bumper compliments the new boot lid design which creates a concave surface on which the Bentley badge feature prominently. Customers can choose between seven standard exterior bodywork colours, however, with a larger palette available for those looking for more unique tones.
2. Interior
The plush interior of the outgoing Continental GT V8 came in a more rounded design drawing focus to the centre console and stack. The new interior layout is much more angular with strong horizontal lines extending the width of the vehicle. The old aluminium and wood surfaces are also replaced by high gloss wood veneers which surround the occupants.
The traditional instrument panel is replaced by a fully digital example while centrally features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in place of the 8.0-inch unit in the outgoing model. This being a Bentley, customers can opt for a variety of trim options and even select a roof lining on the new model.
3. Powertrain
While both the new and the old Continental GT V8 comes fitted with a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 petrol motor, the unit in the new model is a new-generation engine which sees the performance figures bolstered. Let us do a quick comparison.
