Interior and Tech
The "Takumi" badge signifies the pinnacle of Mazda's craftsmanship, and the CX-60 3.3L Takumi lives up to the name with premium materials. Think supportive Nappa leather seats, a panoramic sunroof bathing the interior in natural light, and a Bose sound system delivering an immersive audio experience, with a 12.3" central display for the HMI (Human Interface Machine) infotainment system. The minimalistic, yet driver-centric Kodo-design is ever-present.
Engine
Unlike traditional diesel SUVs, the CX-60 3.3L Takumi embraces a modern approach. Under its hood lies a 3.3-litre inline-six turbo-diesel engine working in harmony with a 48V mild-hybrid system that includes a small electric motor good for 12.4kW and 153 Nm. The electric motor's small-capacity battery is recharged via regenerative braking.
The mild-hybrid system supports the engine at low speeds, providing an additional performance boost with increased air intake and enhanced combustion. All this helps to improve fuel efficiency; Mazda claims a combined consumption of only 4.9 L/100 km.
The combined output for this model is 187 kW of power and a formidable 550 Nm of torque, promising impressive, yet frugal performance and towing capacity. It will be SA's first mild-hybrid diesel vehicle.
