The 718 Cayman as a family vehicle
The 718 Cayman can work as a family car, but only if your family meets the following criteria:
1. There are only two of you
The 718 Cayman is, after all, a two-seater. So you and your child or baby will feel right at home. You can fit a rear-facing child seat on the passenger seat and there are six airbags to prevent injuries. Bear in mind that the 718 Cayman is really low-slung so chances are you'll put your back out trying to secure your kid's seatbelt, though. Also, the sports seats aren't super comfy on longer journeys.
2. You don't need to travel with a pram or stroller
Space is not the 718 Cayman's strongest suit. There isn't much boot space so forget about travelling with a voluminous baby buggy. Unless it's one of those ultra-compact ones - the Cayman's boot can swallow 275 litres.
3. You have money to burn
The entry-level 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 has a starting price of R1 530 000 - a bit pricey for an unpractical family vehicle. The GT4 is even pricier from R 1 891 000. And then there are the expensive extras... even a rearview camera costs extra!

Rather spend your money on the Porsche Macan or the bigger Cayenne if you need daily transport for you and your loved ones.
