Safety features
The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is available in two trim levels, namely, Distinction and Executive. The latter offers customers almost everything you can get on the model except for a few accessories that can be retrofitted. The Distinction variant is not far behind in terms of trim, however, where both shine, is in the standard safety features.
Both derivatives come standard with ABS brakes with electronic brake assist, traction control and stability control systems, as well as hill-start and hill-descent control systems. Owners can also access a tyre pressure monitoring system which will notify the driver if one or more of the wheels are deflating.
Both the Distinction and Executive trims come with blind spot monitoring, however, the Executive variant also features lane-departure warning functionality. In terms of parking, both derivatives are fitted with rear park distance control sensors as well as a rearview camera, but once again, the Executive trim takes it one step further with a surround-view camera feature.
Both derivatives also offer rear privacy glass as standard, perfect as both also have ISOfix mounting points on the outer rear seats. One big difference on the interior is the number of airbags, as the Distinction comes fitted with front and side airbags for both the front occupants for a total of four units, whereas the Executive sees two additional curtain airbags fitted.
Verdict
As can be seen from the features listed above, both the Distinction and Executive derivatives of the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro comes well-specified with safety equipment. However, it should also be noted that the model was also tested in the Chinese car safety assessment program, or C-NCAP, and scored an impressive 5 stars out of the possible 5. Thus, it is safe to say that the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro should be a safe car.
