Toyota South Africa leads the pack as the most prolific retailer of motor vehicles in South Africa, cornering well over 30% of the SA automotive market. The Hilux, Corolla, Fortuner and Starlet make up a large chunk of those numbers, but the steadfast little Urban Cruiser bolsters the figures in the compact crossover segment.

Of the 12704 vehicles sold by Toyota in September 2023, the Urban Cruiser made up 561 of those, that is 4.4% of their total sales allocated to the Urban Cruiser. Taking a look at its market segment competitors, the Cruiser is a much more popular choice when it comes to compact crossovers.
