The Tonale is a head-turner of an SUV. It's got the modern Alfa Romeo styling but keeps key design cues in mind that make it unmistakably Alfa Romeo inside and out. There are some striking colours for it. The Tonale is powered by a new 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 118kW and 240Nm along with the addition of built-in 48 volt, 15kW and 55Nm electric motor. That all makes the Tonale a hybrid vehicle and power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-Speed dual-clutch transmission. This car is pretty decent for long drives too. To ascertain how popular a car is, we need to check its sales figures per month and compare the vehicle to its competition. In this instance, we compared the Tonale's sales figures to the Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40. These are similarly priced, sized and specified vehicles to the Tonale. We picked the month of May 2023 to get an idea of sales figures.

Verdict
As shown above, the Alfa Romeo Tonale is not that popular compared to its rivals. While it may be a premium vehicle, still there hasn't been much gravitation towards it. Despite that, the Tonale is more a bespoke vehicle that prefers to go in its own direction rather than follow the trends set by other vehicles in its class.
