Following a decision from the Competition Commission in 2021, Ford has taken the service plans out of the retail price of all of its cars. Buyers will now have to pay extra for these.
Ford reckons prices are still reasonable if you buy a service or maintenance plan along with the Puma, and most customers still choose to add an after-sales agreement to their finance contract.

The service plan costs R17,692.75
For the new Puma, the main service plan starts at R17,692.75 and covers six years or 90,000 km, whichever comes first. Every 15,000 km, or once a year, there is a service.
If this isn't enough, buyers can either extend the service plan or switch to a maintenance plan. Either way, they can get both for up to eight years or 165,000 km.

Additional service considerations
- Severe driving conditions: If you frequently drive in stop-and-go traffic, dusty environments, or tow trailers, consult your Ford dealership about more frequent servicing.
- Oil changes: While Ford's service intervals might not require an oil change at every service, it's a good practice to get your oil and filter changed annually to maintain optimal engine performance. You can chat with your Ford service advisor about this.
Keeping track of your Ford Puma's service schedule
- Ford Service Plan: We recommend purchasing one of the above-mentioned Ford Service Plans when you buy your Puma. These plans bundle pre-paid servicing at fixed intervals, offering convenience and potentially saving you money in the long run.
- FordPass App: The FordPass App (available for iOS and Android) allows you to access your vehicle's service history and receive maintenance reminders.
By following Ford's recommended service intervals and addressing any additional needs, you can ensure your Ford Puma stays reliable, safe, and drives at its best for many kilometres to come.
