Much like BMW's M Sport or Audi's S Line variants, Jaguar offers the R-Sport trim for its XE model. While the economical engines remain, the R-Sport variant boasts a suite of subtle but sportier design changes.
Each trim has its own individual set of standard equipment and it's no different with the R-Sport. Some of the highlights include xenon headlights, heated leather sports seats and Jaguar's Ambient Interior Lighting. That's on top of rear parking sensors, sat nav, DAB radio and an autonomous emergency braking system.

Engines
The R-Sport trim is available with a choice of three engines in the XE range. The first being a 2.0-litre I4 184kW/365Nm RWD Auto and the second engine on offer is the 2.0-litre I4 221kW/400Nm RWD Auto. The current best seller in SA is the 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged 132kW/500Nm diesel engine. Engines are paired to a slick eight-speed automatic transmission.
With the first petrol engine, Jaguar claims fuel consumption of 6.3l/100km and a 0‑100 km/h acceleration time in 6.5 seconds. The second engine has a claimed fuel consumption of 6.7l/100km and a 0‑100 km/h acceleration time in 5.9 seconds. Both engines have a maximum speed limit of 250km/h.
