Is the Opel Combo a good car?
The model is offered in both a people carrier configuration and a cargo van and performs in both use cases with ease. With so much practicality and spaciousness, the Opel Combo is indeed a good car.
Who is the Opel Combo a good car for?
The Opel Combo is a good car for individuals that needs a vehicle for either carrying a group of people and their luggage comfortably or just needing a cargo van to transport goods or equipment.
Is the Opel Combo a good first car?
While the Combo Cargo is very utilitarian in its finishes and has a clear use case, the Life variant offers a lot more comfort features and will suit most people's needs. We recommend the Life derivative unless a dedicated cargo van is what is needed.
Is the Opel Combo a good family car?
The Cargo won't make for a good family vehicle, however, the Life variant is an excellent option for those looking for their next family vehicle. It is spacious, comfortable and frugal with its fuel consumption.
Is there a Hybrid Opel Combo?
At the time of writing this article, the Opel Combo range is serviced by a 1.6-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder diesel motor producing 68 kW and 230 Nm. No hybrid option is available as yet.

What’s it like to drive?
Reviewer's opinion
It's in the drive that the Combo Life offers something that the SUV brigade doesn't, a car-like ride. You're not going to get generous ground clearance in the Combo Life but let's be honest, who really utilises the full potential of the additional clearance afforded by the SUVs? 99% of their use is on the highways and byways in and around the city and suburbs.

What is the Opel Combo like inside?
The Opel Combo Cargo is pretty basic in that only in the front of the cabin are seats, airbags, air conditioning and a radio system. The Combo Life derivative on the other hand gets a lot more premium finishes as well as a full-colour touchscreen infotainment system. The Combo Life is comfortable and spacious with the rear bench able to comfortably accommodate three larger passengers while the boot still offers 597 litres of space.
Style
Opel is one of the few manufacturers still providing customers with an MPV option and while traditionally MPVs are not the most stylish, the Combo Life most certainly looks good amongst contemporary crossover and SUV offerings. The interior styling is very minimalist with mostly smooth and soft lines adorning the door cards and dashboard.
Tech features
