Is the Honda BR-V a good car? 

The first generation Honda BR-V was never going to win any beauty pageants but it did everything it said on the tin. A budget people mover that got the job. done reliably. The second generation has flipped that particular tin upside down as the new vehicle has shunned its MPV roots and now takes on a more SUV-like appearance with trimmings to match. Powered by the upgraded 1.5l petrol engine it produces 89kW and 145Nm, returning a paltry 6.3l/100km of consumption while still being able to ferry 7 people and their luggage around town.

Who is the Honda BR-V a good car for?

The Honda BR-V is ideal for medium to large families that need space and convenience in their transport. Featuring a host of fitment that is perfect for growing families such as multiple USB charging points in each row, adjustable seating arrangements, and enough space for everyone and the dog.

Is the Honda BR-V a good first car?

The BR-V is well priced and you do get quite a lot of car for your money. It is compact enough to not scare off new drivers and has a decent safety rating featuring 6 airbags for driver and passenger and side protection as well as ISOfix in the second row and lane keeping assist.

What’s it like to drive?

The outgoing BR-V had its fair share of outdoorsy styling features, but the long body shape and boxy rear end screamed 'MPV' from the rooftops. The BR-V's placement towards the more affordable end of the market also meant customers didn't expect a lot of luxury either. People loved it for its practicality and durability, mostly.

What is the Honda BR-V like inside? 

The BR-V was always hailed as a very utilitarian vehicle, with space and comfort front of mind for consumers. Honda has simply taken this a step further and made the BR-V less MPV and more SUV. You still get three rows and massive boot space when the third row is not in use as well as an updated interior for further enhance comfort.

 

Style

Honda has kept to a functional interior but has stepped up the trim level with full leather upholstery and some decently detailed plastics. Updated tech has also found its way into the dash with an updated infotainment system and digital gauge cluster.
