Is the Ford Focus a good car?
The Ford Focus came in a variety of configurations, from a sedan, the hatchback, to a performance hatchback. Needless to say, the model resonated well with the buying public, not only for its modern styling and its ability to meet most requirements from the buyers but also for its reliability and affordable price. We definitely think the Ford Focus is a good car, especially if you can find a clean example of the later models.
Who is the Ford Focus a good car for?
The Ford Focus is a good car for most people in all honesty. If you have a family and looking for more space, then the sedan should suffice while younger buyers might want to take a look at the hatchback models. If you are looking for more performance, the ST and later RS models should be more than enough.
Is the Ford Focus a good first car?
In both sedan and hatchback form, the Ford Focus is easy to drive and affordable to maintain. In terms of safety, even in the most basic trim, the hatchback offers four airbags while the sedan offers six as standard equipment. All the later variants come with ABS brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, electronic brake assist and stability control, making it a very safe vehicle for new drivers.
Is the Ford Focus a good family car?
The Ford Focus hatchback offers five seats and 316-litres of boot space, ample for a small family. If you require a bit more luggage space, the sedan variants make available 421-litres. As mention earlier, all the variants are well equipped with safety features that should keep all the occupants safe in the case of a collision, thus we think it is a good family vehicle.
Is there a Hybrid Ford Focus?
There are no hybrid versions of the Ford Focus. Even the latest iterations which are not sold locally still employ, turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.

What’s it like to drive?
For the development, the engineering and the mechanical side of the RS, I can justify the purchase price. The price will scare many a fair-weather enthusiast off, they'd be more inclined to go with the slightly cheaper Volkswagen Golf R, but mainly because other people recognise it. If you want a true blue oval fans-only creations, then the RS is for you. Chad Luckhoff, AutoTrader

What does it look like?
Exterior
Interior
What is the Ford Focus like inside?
The interior remains modern even by today's standards, however, on the entry-trim models, the infotainment systems might feel dated by comparison to the latest offered in Ford vehicles. Both the hatch and sedan variants return a compliant ride and have good noise insulation, however, if you opted for the RS model, the stiffer suspension and Recaro sport seats will return a slightly harsher drive.
Style
Even though the last Ford Focus models to be introduced locally took place in 2015, they very much still fit into the current range of the Ford products in terms of styling. Both the interior and exterior of the hatchback and sedan models offer modern sculpted surfaces with modern design cues.
