Is the BMW M4 Competition a good car?
The M4 Competition is most definitely a good car, incorporating a host of standard comfort and safety features as well as a variety of performance upgrades on top of what was already present on the 4 Series.
Who is the BMW M4 Competition a good car for?
The BMW M4 Competition is a good car for individuals or couples that want a vehicle for both the daily commute and also for those spirited drives on the weekends. It will also do well at track day events.
Is the BMW M4 Competition a good first car?
If the price of an M4 Competition is not a deterrent, we would then recommend an advanced driving course to be completed with BMW. This will give the first-time car owner a better idea of the immense power and driving dynamics.
Is the BMW M4 Competition a good family car?
Although the M4 Competition offer customers four seats and a respectable 440-litre boot, getting a child restraint seat or any occupants into the rear of the cabin is a little more tedious due to the two-door coupe configuration. Teenagers, especially those that are a little taller might get cramped in the back of the cabin, especially on longer trips. So, while the M4 is capable of being used as a family vehicle, it is not as good as its M3 sibling.
Is there a Hybrid BMW M4 Competition?
The BMW M4 Competition does not have a hybrid variant yet as the range are more performance-oriented.

What’s it like to drive?
Reviewer's opinion
When deactivating some of the systems, it is like juggling four running chainsaws. It is thrilling and looks fantastic, but boy-o-boy if you get it wrong, you are going to have a bad day. The suspension is rock-hard, it is set up for dynamic driving. The steering is fantastic and direct but it does become a little vague when the front-end lifts off.

What is the BMW M4 Competition like inside?
The BMW M4 Competition offer quite a plush interior experience with soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. The leather seats are soft but supportive. The tech-filled cabin also features a variety of trim and functional items that separates it from a regular 4 Series such as the carbon fibre dashboard and centre console inlays as well as the red M mode buttons on the steering wheel, red start/stop button in the middle and BMW M emblems.
Style
The BMW M4 Competition retains much of the same design cues as the normal 4 Series range, however, takes it up a notch. The front sees a more aggressive bumper fitted as well as horizontal slats in the kidney grills. The bonnet also incorporates more sporty 'notches' just behind the grille. On the sides, more aggressive wheels features as well as a unique design on the front fenders. Wider and sportier side skirts also feature. At the rear BMW has fitted a sportier bumper as well as a larger diffuser.
