Chevrolet Utility Colours and Price Guide

One of the last dependable half-tonner bakkies with some personality and utility to it. The Chevrolet Utility was one of the icons of the half-tonner bakkie segment.

Nowadays, more or less the only half-tonner bakkie available new in the South African market would be the Nissan NP200. While not a bad option, not too long ago, you had plenty to choose from. Half-tonner bakkies were great for businesses and even private use.

One of the standout modern options would be the Chevrolet Utility. The Utility aesthetically didn't have the workhorse look it, but rather aimed to have the trendy looks of a small hatchback and also have a load bin too. Pair that with a decent interior, two nippy engine options, and air-conditioning for some models and some special edition models and you have a cracking half-tonner. You had three choices to power the Chevrolet Utility, a 1.4- and 1.8-litre petrol engine or a 1.3-litre turbodiesel engine. There's 170mm of ground clearance for the rough roads. The load bin dimensions were sizeable at 525mm of depth, 1 680mm of length and 1 340mm of width. Sadly, since General Motors pulled out of South Africa, you can no longer buy a brand-new Chevrolet Utility. However, there are many used options available on our website.
