Buying a Car

1. When is the best time to buy a used car?

JP: “It’s about buying them when the time’s right for them.”

2. How many kilometres is too high for a used car?

“What I have picked up in our market and region is that vehicles' mileage, when selling, have around 150,000 to 250,000 km on the clock.”

3. Is mileage more important than age, or is age more important than mileage when purchasing a used car?

“I think it goes both ways, get the right combination between the two, is what I would normally advise. Make sure the condition of the vehicle is right for the money; it's about finding the balance between the two.”

4. Is it true that it’s cheaper to buy a car by cash?

“That’s normally the perception from the buyer, isn't it? I buy with cash and I want a discount on my cash deal. In my 14 years, that's what I've picked up on, basically.”

5. What are your final tips for anyone looking to buy a used car in Worcester?

“I’m a strong believer in buying a vehicle that still has an effective warranty and a service or maintenance plan. Based on that specific vehicle set, get certainty on your vehicle. If something breaks you want to be taken care off and trust that the dealer will do his part. ”
