5 Things You Need To Know When Buying Used Cars For Sale In Plumsted.
This week we spoke to Wavell Blake, Dealer Principal from Hyundai Plumsted to get his 5 top tips for anyone looking to buy a used car.
1. When is the best time to buy a used car?
“You should come and buy a used car in the last week of the month because that's when dealerships need to make their targets, so you might find better deals than what they would normally do. So you could get a bit of a discount,” said Wavell.
2. How many kilometres is too high for a used car?
“If you've got a used car and the previous owner serviced every 10,000 or 15,000km or once a year, you know the car will be in good condition. You can find a car that's five years old or six years old and it's got 120,000km but has only been serviced twice, then you know there might be issues with the car.”

3. Is mileage more important than age, or is age more important than mileage when purchasing a used car?
“Obviously the higher the mileage the more wear and tear, the bigger, the chance of something breaking. I mean, it's like us, the older we get, something's going to break along the line somewhere.”
4. Is it true that it’s cheaper to buy a car with cash?
“Cash means nothing anymore, you know, especially the older generation, they look at you with sad eyes when you say that to them but unfortunately I would say to customers cash is not King.”

5. What are your final tips for anyone looking to buy a used car in Plumsted?
“The first and biggest tip is something my dad said that was inspiring to me and to the business world, is if something sounds too good to be true, then there's something wrong. Something else consumers should be looking at is to buy from a reputable dealership, a brand, like Hyundai, they should buy a Hyundai from a Hyundai dealership because they know they've got the backing & workshops.”
