5 Things You Need To Know When Buying Used Cars For Sale In Klerksdorp
This week we spoke to Jacques Nagel, Dealer Principal from K Mart Klerksdorp, to get his 5 top tips for anyone looking to buy a used car.
1. When is the best time to buy a used car?
Jacques: “I would say August actually, maybe it's all the stuff like back to school with all the families, so anytime from July and up. ”
2. How many kilometres is too high for a used car?
“I think it depends on the year of the model; if you have a 2019 model you don't want anything more than 30,000km, whereas an older vehicle for example, we have a 2005 plate on our floor with 101,000 km and that's excellent for the year model.”

3. Is mileage more important than age, or is age more important than mileage when purchasing a used car?
“I think an older car with lower mileage than a newer car. If you buy a new car with high mileage it makes people take an engine warranty out and all that as, if something happens they have to use it because it's a lot more expensive to fix up a newer car. ”
4. Is it true that it’s cheaper to buy a car by cash?
“If they're paying cash we do give discounts, cash is still king for me, it just depends on how much we paid for some costs because there are some costs where we give a smaller discount. It just depends on the profit margin.”

5. What are your final tips for anyone looking to buy a used car in Klerksdorp?
“Look at the condition of the car and if it's got a full service, and talk to the previous owner. You can get really useful information from the previous owner to see if the car has any hidden problems and how reliable it is.”
