5 Things You Need To Know When Buying Used Cars For Sale In Cape Town.
This week we spoke to Ameenah Abdurahman, Dealer Principal from Myaa Auto in Cape Town to get her 5 top tips for anyone looking to buy a used car.
1.When is the best time to buy a used car?
“The top time when there are people buying vehicles is mostly December I'd say, I think because it is a difficult time and everyone wants cars to get around. ” Said Ameenah
2.How many kilometres is too high for a used car?
“I think it depends on the car. If you take Polos for example they tend to be over a hundred thousand kilometres when they are used, so I'd say depending on the type of car. If you're looking at maybe a Golf or a performance car, you'd look for something lower mileage for a used car.”
3.Is mileage more important than age, or is age more important than mileage when purchasing a used car?
“I think the mileage. The year model doesn't generally make a difference, you need to look at how this car has been used before you've driven it, the mileage can tell a lot. ”
4.Is it true that it’s cheaper to buy a car with cash?
“Cash is always king. I mean, you're paying it off now, it's done so you don't worry about the future. I do think cash is better on the client's side. I would do a better deal if a customer paid cash.”
5.What are your final tips for anyone looking to buy a used car in Cape Town?
“Make sure you have a low mileage car and you have to make sure that you have the service check on the car and also get in the car and drive it before you buy it. ”
