5 Things You Need To Know When Buying New Cars For Sale In Durban
This week we spoke to Raj Bessesar, new vehicle sales manager from Hyundai Durban South to get his 5 top tips for anyone looking to buy a new car.
1. When is the best time to buy a new car?
Raj: “The best time is the beginning of the year, probably do the deal in December and take delivery in January. So you're buying your car and securing your deal in December but you're taking your car in January.”
2. Should a customer haggle the price?
“It is supposed to be fixed on a new car, but because there's so much competition out there in the market, there are so many dealerships in South Africa selling, so many brands do discount the cost.”
3. What’s cheaper diesel or petrol?
“Diesel vehicles are more expensive, but it's got its pros and cons, diesel vehicles are more powerful than a petrol vehicle most of the time. But it all depends on the customer and the affordability.”
4. Is it true that it’s cheaper to buy a car with cash?
“Customers expect that but as a dealership, we know our margins and what we should be making, every customer is a valuable customer to us, so we try to give the customer what they need and what they want.”
5. Should you buy any optional extras for your new car?
“It's not advisable, but most people want to make the car they want and not actually that they need. Mostly they want to make it a bit pretty, so they put in the leather seats, all of the accessories and when it comes to retail, you're not going to be getting any more back.”
