The current generation Toyota Yaris has been on sale locally since 2018 when Toyota South Africa decided to sell the Thai-spec variant versus the Euro-spec models as it had done since the Yaris was first introduced locally. The range is made up of five derivatives which include the Xi, Xs, the Cross, the Xs auto and the Sport. All models are powered by the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine which produces 79 kW and 140 Nm of torque. The automatic variant within the range features a CVT while manual models feature a 5-speed ‘box.
