3 extras you should fit on a new Opel Astra

Enhance the owning experience of your new Opel Astra by adding these extras.
1. Driver Assistance Pack
The Opel Driver Assistance Pack ensures your safety with the most advanced driver assistance technologies. This pack doesn’t come standard on all models so if you’re considering a model such as the Astra Enjoy 1.0T M/T, you are going to want to add this pack on. Here are the systems that make up the Driver Assistance Pack:
- Forward Collision Alert (Sensor Indicator)
- Following Distance (Sensor Indicator)
- Lane Keep Assist (Sensor Indicator)
- Low-Speed Collision Mitigation Braking
- Traffic Sign Recognition (Sensor Indicator)
2. Tilt & Slide Sunroof
A sunroof is a nice-to-have feature on your car as it allows light and fresh air to enter the interior. As many people prefer fresh air to the aircon, and since it’s becoming more dangerous to drive around with your window open, you can still get the air in through the sunroof without exposing yourself to the guys at the robot.
I feel obliged to let you know about the wind noise that comes in when the sunroof is open. No one really speaks of the downside of a sunroof. It’s almost impossible to have a regular conversation with your passengers. It also messes with the vehicle’s aerodynamics as the sudden laminar airflow becomes a turbulent top of additional drag. Despite this, I would still personally prefer a sunroof.
3. Hard Cargo Tray
This tray is meant to keep the luggage compartment area clean and tidy. It is a custom-moulded tray with a non-skid surface to fit the exact dimensions of the vehicle. It is also reversible with one side being carpet, and the other side being water-resistant. The tray features a raised lip of 30 mm which aids in containing cargo and spills.
Consult your local Opel dealer about these extras when speccing your new Opel Astra.
