Top tips to prevent remote jamming this festive season
For most people, the festive season is spent with family and friends, taking that much needed break after a long and busy year.
However, the reality is that the festive season is also one of the busiest months on the roads resulting in not only a number of road accidents, but it is also the perfect opportunity for criminals to tick of their own wish lists, while people begin to unwind, relax and become less vigilant.
Car jamming is on the rise in South Africa and it’s important to remain vigilant when locking your car. Matrix has provided top tips to prevent car jamming this festive season:
1) Always make sure your car is locked before walking away. Manually check that the doors and boot are locked
2) Place valuable possessions like laptops or gym bags in the boot of your car at home or the office before you drive somewhere else.
3) Lock your car while standing next to it. Never press the remote while walking away from the vehicle.
4) If you notice any suspicious looking people surrounding your car, report it immediately or move your car to a safer area.
5) Always park in a well-lit, well- populated area
