Volkswagen is keen on expanding its SUV line-up, and an effective way to do so is to venture into a different vehicle type – a vehicle type they are not currently building.

Hence the Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze concept at Geneva Motor Show 2016, which shows that VW is making mobility more of an experience, and diversifies its range of SUV offerings, the company says.
They continue by saying it is purely a concept at this stage, but that they can well imagine putting such an affordable (relatively) SUV convertible on the market.
As the Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze concept is the 1st convertible in the Polo class (the platform size of a Polo, T-Cross Breeze is just 4133mm long, so only slightly longer than a CrossPolo) it makes it a fun car suitable for everyday use, and for relaxing trips to the beach to go kiting or wind-surfing, as the accompanying images speak of.
The Nissan Cross Murano SUV convertible did not quite make it, so was axed. But now, with Land Rover having already put the Evoque Convertible into production, the idea of a smaller stylish SUV convertible is suddenly not so extreme. It paves the way for others, and the T-Cross Breeze could very well add another interesting VW to their line-up, though it will propable get a more sensible name.
All aluminium parts come in sandblast finish, as seen on the underbody protection and windscreen surround.
Square-ish LED lights
Those bright white daytime running lights are LED rods running in a round-corner square shape, with multiple LED lights nested – these are distinctive, and mimicked at the back with same-shape square-ish red lights in the rear bumper.
New “by-wire” solutions
The cockpit is entirely redesigned, and is a pre-cursor of the new HMI (Human Machine Interface) which is said will do away with physical buttons and switches. For example, the power window switches and the soft-top roof operation are all touch-sensitive surfaces – completely new “by-wire” solutions.
Predictive driving profile selector
When the in auto mode, the predictive driving profile selector evaluates geographical data, so it recognises the surface driven on, and automatically activates off-road mode.
