The new Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet Karmann can be ordered now
New Volkswagen special edition features exclusive design and equipment attributes
Wolfsburg, July 2014 – Volkswagen launches new special edition: the Beetle Cabriolet Karmann. The convertible with its elegant design and equipment features can now be ordered from showrooms.
The Beetle Cabriolet Karmann celebrated its world debut this year at the AMI (Auto Mobil International) in Leipzig where it already convinced many with its elegant appearance. Outwardly the new convertible is recognisable by its electrically powered soft top in Sioux brown. It is supplied with a cover in a matching colour and is combinable with a total of seven exterior body colours. "Disc" type 18 inch wheels are painted in Galvano Grey – as well as the door mirror caps. In addition the Karmann labels on the front wings indicate the exclusive special edition.
The Beetle Cabriolet Karmann is based on the "Design" equipment line. The highlights in the interior are the sports seats covered in Alcantara also in Sioux brown with side inner bolsters. In addition there is a dashpad with "Beetle compartment" in a matt structured aluminium look and pedals in aluminium look. The head restraints, the leather steering wheel, the gear shift lever and handbrake grip (also in leather) feature grey decorative stitching. The overall package is completed by a wind deflector and "ParkPilot" parking distance control. The Beetle Cabriolet special edition can be ordered in all engine/gearbox variations. The 1.2l TSI (77 KW) with manual gearbox is available.
Like the Golf Cabriolet Karmann, the new special model is a tribute to the Karmann coachwork makers which produced numerous Volkswagen cars from 1949 to 1980, from the Beetle Cabriolet and the Scirocco I and II through to the Golf Cabriolet.
