With the new smart fortwo and smart forfour having enjoyed a simaltaneous re-launch into South Africa in May 2016, more models are being added – where the manual gearbox smart fortwo and smart forfour use a non-turbo 999cc engine producing 52kW and 91Nm, the forfour will also be available in “twinamic” automatic from July 2016, using a turbo 898cc engine good for 66kW and a more usable 135Nm.

If you want more sporty power, you can now get Brabus breath for your smart.  Yes, the same tuning company which has been turning Mercedes-Benz cars into Brabus high-performance cars (for nearly as long as AMG) has also been busy on smart, hence the smart Brabus.

Urban mobility is taken even further in both body styles (fortwo coupé and 5-door forfour) and 2 model variants:  smart Brabus and smart Brabus Xclusive.

The smart fortwo has even more power in the city, as the powerful engine (80kW is powerful, relative to its size) gets it up to full speed even on short journeys.  It is specced with the twinamic auto.

The smart Brabus naming is to conform to the Mercedes-AMG naming system.

Prices of smart Brabus

The standard smart-car models start with smart fortwo coupé base at R 174 900, up to R 242 900 for the smart forfour proxy auto, for which R 242 900 is asked.

In addition to the sport package, a new Brabus sport package including 17-inch Monoblock IX alloy wheels is available on passion and prime models for R 27 500, and R 13 000 on the proxy spec.  Much like the AMG Line package you can spec on a non-AMG Mercedes.
