Launched internationally, Porsche has created a baby brother to the 911 GT2 and 911 GT3, which it will call GT4.
The Cayman GT4 uses the 3800cc flat-six engine from the 911 Carrera S. In the GT4 it makes 283kW at 7400 r/min. It is good for 4.4 seconds from zero to 100km/h, and max speed of 295km/h.
A surprise is the gearbox – where Porsche has been issuing replacements of the traditionalist manual gearbox even in the 911 GT3 sports car, the GT4 will be a 6-speed manual.
The Porsche Cayman GT4 is priced at R 1 136 000 with the 3-year Driveplan maintenance, or another R50k for the 5-year plan.
