South African motorists were cautiously optimistic after mid month data showed that we could expect a petrol price decrease of up to 6oc.
Sadly it was not to be that great though, as continued political strife continued to affect the exchange rate.
The international price of crude and our constantly fluctuating Rand/Dollar rate as well as political infighting with our Finance Minister scaring off investors, has led to consumers only being able to expect an 18c decrease in 93 and 95 grade petrol and only a 48c drop in the price of diesel.
Consumers are still hopeful that the current trend will continue, as the holiday season is right around the corner.
The price will go down at midnight on Tuesday 6 September.
